It is the responsibility of the sender, in Boticca’s case the designer, to provide details of the goods that are being shipped for the calculation of duty and VAT. It is the responsibility of the buyer to pay for any additional Duty or VAT due.
We have highlighted some of the most common rules for you below. However each country has its own intricacies. For more details please select your country in the drop down menu at the bottom of this page.
For EU Buyers:
Buying from a non EU countries:
- Goods of £18 (€22 or equivalent in local currency) or less are free from customs duty and import VAT.
- Items specified as gifts with a value of £40 or less will be free from customs duty and import VAT.
- Customs duty becomes payable if the value of the goods is over £135 (€150, or equivalent in local currency) but duty is waived if the amount of duty calculated is less than £9 (€10, or equivalent in local currency).

For US Buyers:
- Items under $200: As a general rule, if you purchase items valued at under $200, you shouldn't have any trouble importing them.
- Items over $200: If you import items that cost over $200 for personal use, you might have to pay a duty, or tax, on the item. The amount of the duty, if any, depends on the type of the item and its value. Some items can be imported without paying any duty at all.

This designer accepts Private Offers!
You can suggest to the designer a price at which you would commit to buy the piece. The designer can accept or decline your Private Offer based on their minimum price.
If the Private Offer is accepted, you will receive an email. The next time you log into your account you'll be able to purchase the piece at the private price. You can the just add the piece to your bag and checkout!
If the Private Offer is declined, you can make another offer. If you don't hear back within 2 days after making a Private Offer, it is likely your offer did not meet the designer’s minimum price as Boticca only sends them offers above their minimum price.
